The Artists who go by the name of Mythopians live and work in the greater Chicago area. We have each been involved in the Chicago art world for many years and came together as a group out of a mutual love of narrative art and a fondness for the romantic tradition in art.

Mythopoeia means the creation of myths or fables and we all share a skill of visual storytelling, whether it is allegorical, symbolic, whimsical or topical. Sometimes we choose to use time honored stories in a contemporary context and sometimes we choose to make up new stories. We do not feel bound by either contemporary aesthetic dictums or ancient ones.

We all share one hope though. Our hope is that the art world will return to a place where the artist is visionary and art is sublime.
